GetEncouragement.com is founded by me, Rob Cross. My moto is “Always give one hundred percent, unless you are donating blood.”
This site is designed to provide free and inexpensive content and services that help people like you feel encouraged.
I am an avid reader and enjoy researching and testing techniques that help us live encouraging and fulfilling lives.
Basic Factors That Make People Successful:
What have I learned so far in 52+ years of living? Here is list of some of my favorite pearls of wisdom:
1) Life is about relationships. If I don’t have good people skills, my chances of being happy and successful are slim. A couple of my favorite books are “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie and “How To Have Confidence And Power In Dealing With People” by Leslie T. Giblin.
They teach time tested ways of getting along with people with a win-win mindset. They teach how to be more diplomatic and how to communicate with others with respect and decency. I would rather learn these techniques than techniques that teach you how to manipulate and trick people.
I’m humbled at how much I still have to learn when it comes to becoming an expert at getting along with people.
2) Going for a walk (earlier in the day the better) at least 6 days a week is a great mood elevator.
3) Learning to forgive is an important life skill. It’s hard, but can be done.
4) It’s good to learn to be healthy physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It takes work on all three fronts, but it’s worth the effort.
5) A healthy diet is good fuel. I’m trying to eat more organic food. I try to stay away from caffeine, alcohol, and sugar.
6) You are whom you hang out with and what you read.
7) Writing down your goals and taking action is important.
8) Being married isn’t always easy, but he who finds a good wife, finds a good thing. (I’m happily married to a Filipina nurse. We got married in May of 2011).
9) Doing at least 5 minutes a day of “speaking positive statements over my life” while doing “positive visualization” is a great habit.
10) Journaling, while listing 10-20 positive reasons to think more optimistically about something, that I usually think pessimistically about, is a great habit.
11) A great way to be happy is to practice paying three sincere compliments to others each day.
Past Community Service Gigs:
I volunteered in rest homes for approximately 7 years visiting lonely elderly people who did not get many visitors from family or friends. I was offered money for this at times, but never took a dime. I learned there how much some kind words of encouragement can help someone who is shut-in or who can’t get out much.
I also taught Sunday school for 7 years. Kids put a smile on my face. They say the funniest things.
I’ve found these community service activities to be some of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done. They usually give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
I’ve learned that reaching out and helping people who are hurting or possibly worse off than me can help get rid of depression and is good for the self-esteem.
My Personal Goals:
My goals with this site and this blog are to provide great value for people at a very fair price and help others have healthier, happier lives.
I also hope to get feedback from people letting me know what they want and do not want regarding products, services and information.
I hope to not spam anyone
I have zero tolerance for any callers working for me that try to scam people. They will be terminated. Please email me at (robscross123 at gmail.com) to report any of my employees attempting to ask people for money.
I hope to make at least a few apps that help people feel encouraged.
If you have any ideas for products or services that would make you feel more encouraged or if you would like to share a blog post about something encouraging, feel free to email me.
